The governments of Russia, of Ukraine and of Belarus must to dissociate themselves from counterfeited data of the report of IAEA “The heritage of Chernobyl”.

In September 2005 report named “the heritage of Chernobyl: medical, ecological and social-economic consequences” was presented to the world community. It was prepared by “Chernobyl forum” organized by the idea and on the means of IAEA.

The leitmotif of the report says that the consequences of the Chernobyl’s damage are overstated. General health problems arise not because of the influence of the radiation, but because of the absence of the information, because of the unfounded fears and because of incorrectly realized migration program. In the same the liquidators live longer than their nationals. Such most unpleasant consequences of the damage like the death of several tens of people from acute radiation sickness and 4000 cases of cancer of the thyroid, 99% of ones are well treated are considered only. As the authors of the report say, in foreseeable future the coming death of about 4000 people in a result of diseases, caused by radiation will be invisible against the background of the deaths caused by other reasons. Therefore, the broad governmental programs of help to the victims of the Chernobyl accident are unnecessary and even are harmful, because they cause the parasitical spirits and form morbid psychology among the victims…

Such conclusions are reached by the application of the methods of the calculation of the radiation risks compromised long time ago. These methods were produced under the pressure of the nuclear industry, by means of passing over the silence one kinds of researches and by tendentious interpretation of others, by direct falsification of science data. Thousands of works of specialists from Ukraine, from Belarus and from Russia were ignored in the report, and the consequences of the accident generally are evaluated using the episodic works of west authors. In the same time in the report the “Chernobyl space” was advisedly short-cut and were not taken into account the available data about the serious influence of the accident on the health of the population of other countries.

According the principle, originating to the Roman law: “You cannot be a Judge in your own case” the valuation of the consequences of the activity of the nuclear industry made by IAEA (created by this industry) or made by the universal organization of health (till it will be connected by the shameful obligation “to coordinate” its position with IAEA) cannot be impartial.

Several months are left till the twentieth anniversary of the Chernobyl accident. The humanity turns to this problem again and again, for not to let it happen again, it looks for new ways of safe development of the energy. Against this background the report “the heritage of Chernobyl” is taken as try of IAEA and of affiliated with it structures to give the start to one more turn of the pro-atomic propaganda.

We are the representatives of the social organizations of Russia, and we declare the determined protest against this cynical profanation of the consequences of the largest human-caused catastrophe in the history. We consider the methods and the conclusions of the report are blasphemous against the Chernobyl victims.

We turn to the supervision of Russia, of Ukraine and of Belarus to dissociate themselves from the conclusions of the report “the Heritage of Chernobyl”, as from the report of the nuclear lobby, who just cover the dreams about the return to wide programs of building of the nuclear power stations.
